چکیده

Recent investigations have shown sum capacity results within a constant bit-gap for several channel models, e.g. the two-user Gaussian interference channel (G-IC), k-user G-IC or the Gaussian X-channel. This has motivated investigations of interferencelimited multi-user channels, for example, the Gaussian interfering multiple access channel (G-IMAC). Networks with interference usually require the use of interference alignment (IA) as a technique to achieve the upper bounds of a network. A promising approach in view of constant-gap capacity results is a special form of IA called signal-scale alignment, which works for timeinvariant, frequency-flat, single-antenna networks. However, until now, results were limited to the many-to-one interference channel and the Gaussian X-channel. To make progress on this front, we investigate signal-scale IA schemes for the G-IMAC and aim to show a constant-gap capacity result for the G-IMAC. We derive a constant-gap sum capacity approximation for the lower triangular deterministic (LTD)-IMAC and see that the LTD model can overcome difficulties of the linear deterministic model. We show that the schemes can be translated to the Gaussian IMAC and that they achieve capacity within a constant gap. We show that multi-user gain is possible in the whole regime and provide a new look at cellular interference channels. The Deterministic Sum Capacity of a Multiple Access Channel Interfering with a Point to Point Link

In this paper, we use the linear deterministic approximation model to study a two user multiple access channel mutually interfering with a point to point link, which represents a basic setup of a cellular system. We derive outer bounds on the achievable sum rate and construct coding schemes achieving the outer bounds. For a large parameter range, the sum capacity is identical to the sum capacit...

On the Achievable Rate-Regions for the Gaussian Two-way Diamond Channels

In this channel,we study rate region of a Gaussian two-way diamond channel which operates in half-duplex mode. In this channel, two transceiver (TR) nodes exchange their messages with the help of two relay nodes. We consider a special case of the Gaussian two-way diamond channels which is called Compute-and-Forward Multiple Access Channel (CF-MAC). In the CF-MAC, the TR nodes transmit their mes...

On the Deterministic Sum-Capacity of the Multiple Access Wiretap Channel

We study a deterministic approximation of the two-user multiple access wiretap channel. This approximation enables results beyond the recently shown 2 3 secure degrees of freedom (s.d.o.f.) for the Gaussian multiple access channel. While the s.d.o.f. were obtained by real interference alignment, our approach uses signal-scale alignment. We show an achievable scheme which is independent of the r...

Adaptive Subcarrier Assignment and Power Distribution in Multiuser OFDM Systems with Proportional Data Rate Requirement

A low complexity dynamic subcarrier and power allocation methodology for downlink communication in an OFDM-based multiuser environment is developed. The problem of maximizing overall capacity with constraints on total power consumption, bit error rate and data rate proportionality among users requiring different QOS specifications is formulated. Assuming perfect knowledge of the instantaneo...

Joint spatial division and multiplexing - Benefits of antenna correlation in multi-user MIMO

We show that the sum capacity of “spatially wellcorrelated” Gaussian MIMO broadcast channel (BC) is rather larger than that of the uncorrelated (i.i.d. Rayleigh fading) Gaussian MIMO BC, assuming a special structure of transmit correlation of users. Moreover, a potential sum-rate gap of an ideal correlated Rayleigh fading channel is shown to be M logM over the uncorrelated case, where M is the ...
